Samtengang Trek is an easy as well as relaxed hiking trip in Bhutan. This trekking suits for every age group of people. Therefore, any Family who want trekking in Bhutan with child/ children, Samtengang trekking might be the best selection for them.
Samtengang Trek confers charming beauty of nature and culture. In this trip, before the start of trekking, you will be offered an opportunity to explore three foremost tourist destinations of Bhutan. They are Paro, Thimphu, and Punakha.
Upon your arrival in Bhutan, firstly you will travel around Paro valley. In Paro you visit National Museum, Fortress followed by hiking to Tiger’s Nest Monastery. From Paro, you set off your journey to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.
In Thimphu, you join sightseeing of National Memorial Chorten, Tashichho Dzong (the secretariat of Bhutan government and the office of the King with throne room), Folk Heritage Museum, Textile Museum, and Arts School. After Thimphu, you drive to Punakha.
Punakha is the past capital of Bhutan and also the starting point of this trekking. After the visit of Punakha Dzong (the most photogenic ancient fortress of Bhutan standing on an island between the confluences of the two rivers) you begin hiking by a gradual climb through pine forest and paddy fields.
During trekking, you come across to the village of Chungsakha. In this village, you visit the temple of Drukpa Kuenley. In this village, you also can observe the rural lifestyle of Bhutanese people. Further, you continue trekking via farmhouses, lake to reach Samtengang.
Subsequently, the trail leads downhill all the way to Chumzomsa. You end this trekking in Chumzomsa. Then you take a drive to Wangdue town for night halt. Next day, you move back to Paro and conclude this whole trip.
Getting into Bhutan
There are only two Airlines (Druk Air- Royal Bhutan Airline and Bhutan Airlines) which flying in and out of Bhutan. Both airlines have a flight from Kathmandu to Paro. Lots of visitors travel Bhutan via Kathmandu Nepal- the country of Mount Everest with the beautiful Himalayas.
