Bhutan Travel 7 days: Paro-Thimphu-Punakha-Gangtey Tour is a fabulous one week trip in the Last Himalayan Kingdom. It includes four tourist destinations: Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, and Gangtey. All these places are highlighted by its unique culture and pristine nature.

The trip of Bhutan Travel 7 days commences traveling to the capital city, Thimphu. In Thimphu you get into visit Tashichho Dzong (The complex of Government Secretariat, National Assembly and the office of King with his throne room); Memorial Chorten (The stupa built in the memory of 3rd King regarded as the Father of modern Bhutan); National Library; Institute of traditional medicine; Temple and Museums.

After Thimphu, you travel to Punakha which is the past capital of Bhutan. Here, you visit Punakha Dzong (The most photogenic among all ancient fortresses in Bhutan contains many precious relics from the days when it was capital). Then you set off your journey to explore the scenic valley of Gangtey.

Gangtey is a beautiful valley. It is also famous as the home of endangered black-necked cranes. The name of this valley is taken from the impressive Gangtey monastery. This monastery is one of the important monasteries of Nyingmapa, one of the groups in Buddhism, and is also the main seat of the Pema Lingpa tradition.

From Gangtey you drive to Paro with one night halt at Wangdue Phodrang. After reaching Paro, you go to visit National Museum, two Ancient fortresses, Farm House, Kyichu Temple followed by hiking to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Miraculous Monastery is located on the side of the cliff of the Upper Paro Valley).

Getting into Bhutan

There are only two Airlines (Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines) which flying in and out of Bhutan. Both airlines have a flight from Kathmandu to Paro and vice versa. Paro is the only international airport of Bhutan. Thus, you may start your journey to Bhutan via Kathmandu Nepal, the Himalayan country with Mount Everest.
